The Friends of the Elm Grove Library, Inc. was founded in 1984 by a small
group of concerned members of the Elm Grove Junior Guild who wanted
to help the Elm Grove Library become a better resource for our
community.
Over time, the organization has grown. Today, the Friends of the Elm
Grove Library, Inc. is a 501(C) (3) non profit corporation with over 27
members who live in Elm Grove and surrounding communities.
It is an active, dynamic organization filled with citizens who care about
their library and volunteer in a number of ways. Our members:
- Conduct a variety of fundraising events. These include the:
- FOEGL Used Book Sale - one of the largest used book sales in the region that is held annually on the first weekend in March
- "Lights of Love" Holiday Fund Drive & Tree Lighting Ceremony held annually on the first Sunday in December
- Plan interesting programs and lectures throughout the year for
both children and adults
- Participate actively in a variety of book discussion groups
- Exhibit interesting collections in our FOEGL display case that is located at the Elm Grove Library
- Volunteer at the Elm Grove Library
- Provide refreshments at FOEGL and library sponsored events.
All these activities and fundraising events enhance the Elm Grove Library,
a valuable and important
community resource!
