LOOKING BACK AND LOOKING AHEAD
Looking Back on Year 29 of Bookie Cookie …
For the 29th year in a row, FOEGL members, family and friends made batches of cookie dough, baked it at Great Harvest Bakery and sold the bagged cookies at the Elm Grove Memorial Day Parade. This year’s team had the added support of the members of the Elm Grove Junior Guild, who made dough, and the Tonawanda PTO, whose families labeled the cookie bags and helped to sell cookies on the day of the parade.
A grand total of 1,280 cookies were sold amounting to $1,380.10, including donations, all of which goes to help the Elm Grove Library for special projects.
Looking Ahead to Year 30 …
Next year will be Bookie Cookie’s 30th anniversary. We hope to continue our great relationship with the Elm Grove Junior Guild and Great Harvest Bakery. (This year Great Harvest not only lent us their baker and bakery for the morning, but also they allowed our dough makers to drop their dough at the Bakery instead of having to locate the chairpersons’ homes to drop off dough.) May our successful cooperation with the Tonawanda PTO extend to other schools in the area for sellers on the day of the Parade.
May this year be a sign of growth that will continue for years to come. Next year we hope our thirtieth anniversary will be bigger and better than ever.
Thank you – one and all!
