Elm Grove Read!

 All Elm Grove residents and book discussion groups are invited to:

  • Read the1945 Pulitzer Prize winning novel A Bell for Adano by John Hersey. Ten copies of the book will be available for checkout at the Elm Grove Library beginning on August 2, 2010.
  • Enjoy the movie A Bell for Adano  starring Gene Tierney, William Bendix, John Hodidak and Henry Morgan. The movie will be shown on September 28, 2010 at 1:30 pm  in the *Elm Grove Community Room. Admission is free.  Reservations are not required. Free popcorn and soda will be provided.
 
  • Meet for lively discussion of the book A Bell for Adano led by MSOE professor and Great Books discussion leader Judith Steininger on October 5, 2010 at 7:00 pm in the *Elm Grove Community Room. Admission is free. Refreshments will be served.

Since seating is limited for this very special event, reservations are required. Reservations will be taken at the front desk of the Elm Grove Library beginning on August 2, 2010.

*The Elm Grove Community Room is located in the lower level of the Elm Grove Library,  13600 Juneau Boulevard in Elm Grove, Wisconsin.

** In conjunction with this event, we will be collecting Halloween candy and handwritten letters to send to active duty servicemen oversea through Operation Gratitude. Look for the collection box near the Elm Grove Reads display at the Elm Grove Library. You will also find a sheet with helpful tips and information about writing letters to servicemen who are stationed overseas.
